FEATURED DOG - Keegan

Loyal 3-4 year old male. Keegan is a very handsome boy who is sweet and fun-loving. He is housetrained. Keegan gets along with cats and other dogs very well. For the last 3 weeks, Keegan has been fostered by a family who lives in a very active neighborhood that has enabled him to be exposed to multiple men and children. It hasn't been difficult finding volunteers because people are very attracted to him. Keegan does like both children and men and is currently living with both. He does feel the need to protect his family from things that he finds "threatening" much more inside the house than in public. We don't think that Keegan is appropriate for children because he becomes agitated when he sees things such as sporting equiptment being worn by visiting children or kids getting too loud and running. With saying that, he has come a long way in a very short period of time. He is very treat motivated and becomes anyone's best friend easily when given a piece of cheese etc.

Keegan just needs an owner that will not allow him to take over and make decisions for himself. Once he knows where he stands, he is just a very happy guy who loves to play but is equally as content sitting on your lap. He is a very smart boy and will be a very loyal companion to whoever is lucky enough to adopt this great little guy.

Update: Keegan has lived with his foster family for a couple of months now and is getting along well with men, women, children, dogs, and cats. Although he enjoys sitting on the lap of our 4 year old nephew, we still feel he is not appropriate for smaller children because he likes to chase their feet.

SPECIAL MEDICAL NEEDS...

Your Donations Make a Difference!

Canine Castaways has had many dogs requiring extra special medical attention. We also rescue many dogs that require heartworm treatment or extensive dentals. We could not fund these extra expenses without all of the hard work done by our volunteers to raise funds!! We also have many senior dogs adopted with a reduced adoption donation regardless of their expenses. This makes our extra fundraising even more important. Keep up the good work!!

Here is a sampling of just some of our extra special cases...
